Job Position – Network

Network Engineer - FireFighter

The Network Engineer role involves providing both remote and on-site support for small to medium-sized clients, as well as assisting other BVA team members with complex network-related tickets before they are escalated. This position also assists the project team in firewall and networking activities, requiring advanced expertise in network administration, architecture, and engineering. High-level tickets related to firewalls and switches (layer 3+) will be assigned to this role for troubleshooting and to prevent ticket escalation. Proficiency in firewalls and networking through Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching is essential for this role.

$70K - $110K/yr

Desirable qualifications for this position include possessing certifications such as: MCIT (Preferred), MCSA: Windows Server 2012 (Preferred), CCNA (Preferred), VMware VCP (Preferred), and ACSP: Apple Certified Support Professional (Preferred).

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the information technology industry, with a focus on Networking, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft infrastructure management.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting enterprise-grade firewalls and switches.
  • Proficient in Layer 2 and Layer 3 switch administration.
  • Proficient in network conception, troubleshooting, and infrastructure network management, showcasing comprehensive expertise in overseeing and optimizing network operations.
  • Familiarity with backup systems and their implementation.
  • Extensive expertise in providing desktop support services.
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel in high-pressure environments and skillfully navigate challenging work situations.
  • Hands-on experience in basic server and email administration.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and collaborative approach when interacting with colleagues, partners, and clients.
  • Physical agility and strength to perform tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 40 lbs., in addition to extensive computer equipment usage.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required for this position, while technical training or a college degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in a network administrator role, infrastructure management, or high-level IT network/infrastructure consulting
  • Demonstrating exceptional skills in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical expertise.
  • Showcasing outstanding proficiency in both verbal and written communication, along with excellent customer service skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and proof of car insurance.
